Predictive Analytics Hit The Midstream

Companies using analytical software that is at the disposal of midstream engineers and operators, are now able to use this technology to model scenarios and make predictions regarding the integrity of assets, production and optimization of drilling. The idea is to collect data at data points to predict potential hazards and to be ahead of the game in terms of addressing the problem, ultimately saving time, money and even lives.

By 2016, 50% of industry companies will have this advanced analytics software in place with large companies such as GE Oil & Gas leading the way announcing a partnership in 2014 with Accenture, a technology consulting company, to apply predictive analytics to their pipeline integrity.
